One summer night my husband and I returned home from visiting our son and when we pulled in the driveway I decided to take a couple of pictures before I went into the house. This picture is a result of that. I nicknamed him Maurice and every August 23 I try to get another picture of him but so far, I have been unsuccessful. One year we threw a party in his honor and we got some very strange evp’s but Maurice did not show. We’re having another “Maurice Party” this year and I will post any results that we get.

The paranormal activity always seems to increase when my grandchildren are around. I don’t really know why but I have some thoughts on the subject. My granddaughters are equally fascinated and afraid when it comes to ghosts. I have noticed that fear is definitely a factor in increased activity whether it comes from children or adults. ( Some of the most frightened visitors that we’ve had were adults…)
Children are also full of energy and I think it spills over to the spirit world giving them the energy they need to act up. I am a very high energy kind of person and have often wondered if that’s why ghosts seem to like me so much.
Another thing that ghosts seem to love is a good audience and my grandchildren certainly provide that when they are here. They are delighted when things happen and yet it sometimes frightens them. Because of this we sometimes struggle with how to handle the activity that goes on around us when the children are present. We have found honesty to be the best policy. When they hear someone walking around or see things move on their own I don’t tell them it didn’t happen. I remind them that the ghosts are trying to get their attention and are just people like us who happen to be on the other side. I also tell them that they have the right to tell the ghosts to leave them alone and stay away from them if they so choose. Interestingly enough, they rarely do this. Instead, they usually choose to talk to them like they are old friends.
A recent example of how they react to this kind of activity is the cooking video that is posted on the web site. Hannah and I were actually doing a cooking video for my craft blog when a spoon that was stuck in a can of apple pie filling moved slowly around the edge of the can. Logan started laughing and Hannah paused for a moment and then went right back to what she was doing.
We had some more activity during this visit as the kids lay sleeping on the hide a bed in the living room. I was doing some computer work when I saw an object go flying across the floor so I did a couple of recordings. The following evp’s are from those recordings.
“Wanting to talk.” EVP
“I’m here.” EVP
“Hannah.” EVP
“Wanted to die.” EVP
Yesterday my grandchildren were helping me with a video demonstration for my craft blog which involved making apple turnovers. We poked the two spoons we were using down into the remaining apple pie filling that was left in the can. As I was filming the video I heard a scraping sound and then saw Hannah give me a look and heard Logan start giggling. Neither one of them told me the spoon had moved so I didn’t realize what had happened until later when I reviewed the video. Although these kind of things happen fairly often I rarely get them on video.
If you live near Knoxville and enjoy ghosts and ghouls then you shouldn’t pass up the opportunity to attend the last presentation of “the haunted cave.” I have never visited the Cherokee Caverns but after reading about the caverns on Frank Murphy’s Blog I will certainly be paying them a visit during the final presentation of “the haunted cave.” After looking at the pictures on Cherokee Caverns website it appears that the cave is transformed into massive haunted house. Sure it’s not real ghosts and ghouls but its good for the old ticker to get scared every now and again.

This picture is from Cherokee Caverns Website.
I’ve uploaded the first images to the Photographic Evidence page. There will be many many more images to come. Please visit the Photographic Evidence page to learn the back story behind these images.
4-19-2005 EVP – No I don’t care.
I’ve uploaded several audio files to the EVP – Audio Evidence page. I literally have hundreds of evp’s that I have been saving and sorting from the last five years. Please check back frequently for updates.
This is probably the most amazing footage I have ever seen and I’m not just saying that because my son captured it. A couple of years ago shortly after the paranormal activities really picked up we invited a paranormal research group out to investigate the house and land. My son Ryan captured the following video(s) (same video, different speeds) on his Samsung Minidv camcorder while we investigated out behind our property.
This anomaly appeared as we approached the bottom of what we call “the ridge” which is a low point between two rolling hills about a half mile behind our home here in East Tennessee. It should also noted that the batteries in our flashlights and other electrical equipment drained at very rapid pace on this walk. We also captured several EVP’s on the camcorder; one of which clearly says, “Hey….Gary.”Please watch the the full speed video first, it was filmed at 30fps and this will give you an idea of how fast this object was moving. Also, notice that no one reacts to the anomaly, and there was a total of five people present at that time; the three in frame, my son holding the camera and one other group member out of frame behind the camera.
One of the members of the paranormal research group that came out actually sent the video off to a reputable University (I believe it was Cornell) to have it analyzed. They were able to determine that it is definitely not any known bird or insect. We welcome any questions or comments.
This video was filmed by my son Ryan Kazinec. We have no problem with you linking to this page but please respect the property rights owner and do not use this video without our permission. If the video is used we ask that you give full credit to spookycabin.com and Ryan Kazinec.

In the coming weeks I will be adding pictures, videos, audio, articles, and stories involving events I have experience here in my log home as well as event’s that have occurred throughout my life. Please check back soon and I welcome any thoughts or opinions. Thanks
